It's coming...

Oh. My. Gosh. "Oh my gosh you guys! Looks like Elle's gonna win the prize!" (That's from Legally Blonde the Musical, which we went and saw on Wednesday. And which I LOVED. It was fabulous.)

Anyway, Oh my gosh! I will be on a plane to Europe in less than a month! It has come SOOOO fast! It seems like I was accepted just, like, last month. Weird. I'm SO excited though! It's going to be so so great! I can't wait.

A few updates on my life since I last blogged:
I have a BUTT load of work to do. I turned in one research paper on Thursday. I have a 7 page rough draft of one due on Monday that I have yet to begin, and then a final 8 page draft of another research paper due on Wednesday. Not to mention a 2 page Italian paper and a 3 page reading response due Wednesday too. Oh yeah, and then there are the videos I'm making for our Club Style end of year showcase. Which is NEXT WEEK! Ah! SO weird how fast this semester is almost over. Three more weeks until finals! I may die. This has been the hardest semester yet.

Legally Blonde the Musical. It was so great. And hilarious! Even DAD was cracking up! We all had so much fun. I've posted some of the music I could find on my playlist. I love broadway!!! Seriously, I LOVE it. Some of us are thinking we want to see Wicked in London. Excited much? Um, yeah. I love Wicked. It's my favorite. And then Les Miserables. And then Lion King. And then probably Legally Blonde. And after that, Hairspray. They are all just so great. Some day when I live in NYC, which I will, I will go to broadways all the time! I'll get the cheap seats and enter the ticket lotteries. And it will be great.

I can graduate next fall semester! Fall of 2011. Next December! Is that not crazy? It's weird to think how fast my college experience is flying by! It's kind of sad, because I love it. Like a lot. After I graduate, I would love to get a masters in either Museum curating or art business. And then make millions. Good idea? I thought so. When I make my first million, I'm buying mom and dad a cottage in Ireland. Dad, the other day during one of my study breaks I somehow found myself looking for cottages and houses for sale in Doolin and Enniskerry. Enniskerry is right by the Sally Gap. Remember how pretty it was there? Look what you have to look forward to:
This one is my favorite. It's in Enniskerry. Go here to see more pictures. :)
This one over looks that harbor in Doolin that we drove to that one day. Here are more pictures for this one. :)
This one is in Doolin too. This one is right close to the water too. More pictures here :)
Anyway, BE excited. I sure am. :)

I've got to get back to studyin' now folks. Have a delightful Saturday!

BYU's Best Dance Crew

Welp kids, I competed in BYU's Best Dance Crew on Wednesday with my crew, EQUALIZER, and we won. Ha! It was so so fun. There were some awesome crews, but we killed it. Not to brag or anything... ha! We each won $50 to the BYU Bookstore and we get to perform at the finale of BYU Idol. Schweet! It was just so so fun. I love my crew and all my friends from Club Style. Here's the vid of our performance:

Irish Jig contest

Here is my submission to the Forbes Family Irish jig contest. Court and I woke up this morning, had green pancakes, and then danced to irish music in our living room. Sorry our heads are cut off, but you get the idea. :) Love you family! Happy St. Paddy's!

Crash

Leo got hurted:
There I was, just cruisin' along NB I-15 on my way to little sister's dance company concert when suddenly a car swerved into my lane smashing in Leo's left rear door. NOT cool. At all. There are a few things I'm feelin' lucky about with this: 1. It could have been a lot worse than it was. 2. I wasn't hurt at all. 3. The guy admitted to it being his fault. 4. I had decided to leave an hour and a half early for Kaitie's show so I only missed the first three dances.
It was my first car accident as a driver and it scurred me pretty bad. I hope it doesn't happen again any time soon. Or ever. Poor lil Leo is hurtin'. But he's tough. He'll pull through I'm sure.

I'm competing in BYU's Best Dance Crew on Wednesday. So excited! Here's my crew:
St. Patrick's day is upon us. So here are a few Irish blessings you might love. I love them. :)
Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

And another:

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

This one is in our house in Draper I believe:

Bless this house, o Lord, we pray.
Make it safe by night and day.
Bless these walls so firm and stout,
Keeping want and trouble out.
Bless the roof and chimney tall,
Let thy peace lie over all.
Bless the doors that they may prove
Ever open to joy and love.
Bless the windows shining bright,
Letting in God's heavenly light.
Bless the hearth a-blazing there,
With smoke ascending like a prayer.
Bless the people here within...
Keep them pure and free from sin.
Bless us all, that one day, we
May be fit, O lord, to dwell with Thee.

And one last one:

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

A happy happy birthday to my bestest best friend..

This is Kaycie:
She's kind of just my best friend. And Kaycie, on this day of your birth, this post is for you. So listen up!

Dear Kaycie:
You are an amazing person. Club Style is my hero for introducing me to you. My life has changed so much ever since we have become friends. You came just at the right time too. I had had a rough year with roommates and friends and such and you were just the sunshine I needed in my life. I've looked up to you since that first day in Club Style. I knew right away you were going to be someone important to me. We never really hung out a lot through out fall semester, but once we did it was pretty much instant best friends. We found something in common real quick when we realized we both loved baseball. We went to a few BYU baseball games in the spring and came even closer.
I had a heckuva lot of fun when I came to visit you in ATL/Hilton Head. That was some great fun. I knew you were going to be the best friend ever when you called me at the airport and I told you that my flight had been cancelled because of the rain and I was going to have to spend the night in an airport and you said "you are NOT sleeping in an airport. I'm coming back to get you." It was a 45 minute drive one way. You had already driven me there. You came back and took me to your house. And then drove me back again in the morning. Over 4 hours of driving. You have never failed at playing the role of great friend.
I can totally be my self around you, which is always a relief because sometimes I feel people just don't get my sense of humor and it makes things awkward. You not only get it, but you join in with me. :)
Football games, dance parties, movies, late nights, cabin trips, crazy times, girl talk, frozen yogurt trips... oh what fun we have.
I know that you genuinely care. I've never had a friend offer to drop everything and come to my side when I was having a rough time and know they actually meant it and they actually would, except for you. You have no idea how much that meant to me, and still means to me, after needing a good friend to be there for me and to talk to but having only half-hearted attempts or nothing from others.
You are just so great. I admire and look up to you so much. You are such a great example to me in every aspect of your life and I feel blessed to call you my friend. Love you chica! Hope you have a fabulous birthday!!!
Sincerely, me. McKell. Lyn Forbes. :)

A blah blah blah-g

Way to go Sandra Bullock! She's always been a fav, but this marks the first nomination for her. And she won! I loved her in the Blind Side. She was amazing.

A woman won for best director for the first time EVER!!! How exciting. Way to be Katherine Bigelow.

I wish my last name was Bigelow.

I've never even heard of the Hurt Locker. I want to watch it.

I thought Avatar would win more awards. But whatever.

I have to write a paper this week. After 7 hours in the library yesterday, I've got some good research, now just to pull it all together...oh boy help.

47 days until my study abroad. WOOOO!!!

We had stake conference today in the Provo Tabernacle building. It was beautiful. And I loved the hymns we sang. And the organ player was amazing. I got chills. Loved it. Oh, and there was a Miranda Teichart painting in the back. Loved that.

I still have a lot of homework. I have to read 11 scenes from "La Locandiera" tonight for italian. And write a 2 page response for my American Art class. Yippee...

The penguins are at the aquarium! We've been raising money to get them ever since I started working there in May, and they are finally here. The exhibit opens March 26! I have 6 VIP passes in will call for anyone who wants them. Just let me know if you want to use them.

I want to watch a movie. I don't really care which one, I just want to watch one. I haven't had time to lately and that's not cool.

Club Style performed at the Men's volleyball game on Friday against Pepperdine. It was way fun. I'll post a video later.

School is killin' me. The more I think about everything I have to do the more I just want to run away. Can this semester just be over already? Pretty please?

I love my roommates. Today we all woke up and just sat in one of our rooms and chatted for about an hour. That hasn't happened in a long time because we've all been so busy. I just love them. They're great.

I am craving chocolate. Dang it...

It's been approximately 56 days since I've had soda pop. I can't wait until I'm sitting in Greece and have a Coke Light. That's my inspiration for not drinking soda. It'll make the Coke Lights in Europe better than the amazing they already are. Mmmm. Can't wait.

So I should get back to my homework, but boy, doesn't it feel good to blah blah blah-g every now and then?!

I get it from my mother.

If you can't tell by now, I really like the month of March.
It's the month of St. Patrick's Day.
I love St. Patrick's Day.
Why you ask?
I'm Irish.
It's in my blood to love St. Patrick's Day.
Because I'm Irish.
I get my love of my Irish heritage from my mother.
While growing up, on St. Patrick's Day I would always wake up to find green milk in the fridge and green pancakes on the griddle.
And little tiny footprints from the Leprachauns leading to St. Paddy's day socks and/or shirts for my little sister and me.
One year mama made corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's Day. It was delicious.
I think I have an even greater appreciation for my Irish heritage after visiting Ireland last summer.
It is a beautiful country.
The most beautiful I've ever been to.
My roommates and I want to have a St. Patrick's Day party.
Any ideas of fun things to do? Food to serve?
I hope you all have a delightful month of March!
I wish you all the Luck o' the Irish.
Here are some photos of Ireland I took while there and a video of da and I in a pub in Doolin, just to put you in the mood:
