And finally, A BREAK!!!

re·lief: removal or lightening of something oppressive, painful, or distressing

I am experiencing this as we speak. I just returned from my last class before Thanksgiving break.
Mmmmm it feels good.
My work is done until next week.
Well, except for the fact that I have to go in to work tomorrow.
Well, I don't have to, but I figure "Hey, I have nothing else going on. Why not make an extra 20-30 bucks?"
Fabulous idea McKell.
Thanks.
Anyway, praise the lord it is break time. The first since Labor Day I do declare.
I will enjoy it for all it's worth.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!
And now for some "best moments" from my favorite Thanksgiving episode of any TV show EVER! Enjoy.

ACCEPTED!

YES!
It is true.
I have been accepted into my Art History Europe Study Abroad program for Spring term 2010.
Ask me if I'm excited...
HECK YES I AM!!!
I got a notification on the side of my screen saying I had a new email right at the beginning of my Northern Renaissance class. I may have let out a little squeak of excitement when I read "Congratulations on your acceptance to BYU's Spring 2010 Art History SA Program." Now ask me if I was embarrassed.
HECK NO I WASN'T!!!
I can not contain my excitement.
What this means:
This spring term I will be living in hotels throughout Europe from April 26th to June 17th. Cities that I will be visiting and studying in include:
Athens, Greece
Rome, Italy
Florence, Italy
Ravenna, Italy
Venice, Italy
Vienna, Austria
Melk, Austria
London, United Kingdom
Amsterdam, Netherlands
the Hague, Netherlands
Haarlem, Netherlands
Bruges, Belgium
Brussels, Belgium
Ghent, Belgium
Chartres, France
Versailles, France
Paris, France
It is going to be the experience of a lifetime!
Thanks to everyone for your hopes and prayers and crossing of your fingers! I guess it all paid off! ha HA!
Let the countdown begin...

MySpace-Countdown-Clocks

Life can be rough.

It's been one of those weeks.
Two jobs.
Five classes.
Two Club Style routines to worry about.
One nasty cold...
All these things are killin' me right about now. Last week was rough and I think my grades may have felt the effects of my nasty cold that definitely contributed to my lack of concentration.
I tried. I did. But it's hard when you have the constant feeling of exhaustion and the want to sleep all the time and the constant feeling that your head is going to explode and sounding like an old man when you breath.
Not to mention getting made fun of by your italian professor as you go to speak in an oral exam and nothing but a squeak comes out for about twenty seconds. (Slightly embarrassing. But just slightly.)
This next week is really daunting considering this fact:
Three weeks left in the semester.
Ah!
I have a major paper due next Monday.
(that determines 1/3 of my grade)
A huge italian test on Friday.
(of which I'm pretty sure I'll understand niente. that means nothing)
A big project due in my marriage and family class.
(that I have yet to begin)
The need to finish the New Testament in three weeks.
(I'm only about 1/3 of the way through)
Music to finalize for my Club Style routine.
(should have picked a song that blends easier...)
But.
On the plus side, I have a few good things to keep me going through the week:
Crawl by Chris Brown and Do You Remember by Jay Sean.
(See the end of my playlist. You'll be obsessed too.)
The new Carrie Underwood album Play On.
(AMAZING)
New Moon on Thursday night.
(Need I say more about that one?)
More money from now working two jobs.
(Holiday season anyone?)
This episode of SNL.
(Taylor Swift was just fabulous)
And. Last. But not least.
I should know my fate for next spring. Finally!
(Was I accepted into my study abroad program? Pray hard.)
I can do it!
At least that's what I keep telling my self.
And so the week begins...

This is how we do it.

It's been a while since my last post. And yet it's been quite eventful here in P-Town. Here are a few things that have been occupying my time:

1. Club Style
We've been keeping busy with Club Style while we've been learning lots of new stuff. Things are going great with it. I finished my choreography for one of the dances we'll perform a lot this year. I was going to upload a video but it won't for some reason. Maybe soon. :)
Also, we've decided we want to do a Michael Jackson tribute dance this year! It is going to be crazy awesome and I can't wait. I especially got real excited and pumped after I saw....

2. THIS IS IT
AMAZING! If you haven't seen it yet, get there. Michael Jackson's This is It is unbelievable and I can't even believe some of the things they were planning for his 50 concert sold out show. It would have been unreal. Go see it. It's fabulous. Michael was the man.

5. Thriller
Last Thursday, Courtney, Tara, Kaycie and I went downtown to see Odyssey Dance Theater's "Thriller" at Kingsbury Hall. I think that was maybe the 6th time I've seen it. And it never gets old. Love it. Then we went to the Pie afterwards and had some delicious pizza. It was a way fun night. Kayc and I at the Pie:

4. Halloween
We hit a huge party at Alpine Village that was crazy fun. We all threw on some makeshift costumes and went. And partied hard. I went as a pirate. Kind of. ha. I just wore what I could find, but it ended up working out. :) Here we have the Pirate (the best parts were my socks and boots, but you can't see them in this picture), CRAZY!!!?!, and a thug. We had way fun.

Oh yeah. Look who showed up to dance with us:

MJ is still alive folks. haha. Good times.
5. School
School has been kicking my butt. Lucky, thanks to some long hours spent in the library, I haven't been doing too bad. I got an A- on my art history midterm, which was a huge accomplishment because I was so nervous for it. I wrote a paper for the same class on Robert Campin's Merode Altarpiece, I got an A on an italian oral exam and B+ on an oral presentation in my other italian class, I absolutely love my LDS Marriage and Family class with Professor Brooks, I'm working on my 2nd New Testament exam... Things are great. Let's hope I can keep it up for six more weeks. Since six more weeks is about all I've got left in this semester. Crazy!

6. Applications
I sent in a few applications last week for two things:
  1. Art History Europe study abroad: This program will travel to Europe for Spring term and I would be there studying art for two whole months. Cities we would visit are: Athens, Delphi, Rome, Florence, Pompeii, Ravenna, Venice, Vienna, Bruges, Brussels, Amsterdam, Ghent, London, and Paris. Amazing right? So, pray that I get accepted. I had my interview last Friday and I should know by the end of this month whether or not I get in. Cross your fingers!
  2. A job in the Art History Slide Library: This one happened real fast. My Northern Renaissance professor mentioned they were hiring. I picked up an application. Dropped it off the next day. Got a call 3 days later saying to come in for an interview in 3 days. I went in for my interview. 5 hours later I got a call and I got the job! I'll officially be starting today. Can't wait. Real excited. Love it.
Eventful right? Can't wait to see what's in store for this next week. :)
