My other favorite dance show!

I love this show! Some of the stuff the crews do is madness! The Jabbawockeez (winners of last season) pulled out some crazy stuff last year that we thought noone could beat. I'm quite disappointed since I've learned I missed a one day master class from them in Virginia, not cool! But, anyway, this season has started off with a bang and is even bigger and better than last year. Lovin' it so far! Except for the fact that Distorted X was already voted off, I loved them! But now I'm lovin' Supercrew. They did a crazy a ninja thing last week that kicked butt. Love 'em! This is what I'm hopin' to do one day, just so y'all know. If you are interested in joinin' my future crew, just holla! :)

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE!!!!!

As you may know, SYTYCD 2008 has officially begun. I LIVE for this show. It is what gets me through life. And I may be exaggerating a little, but really, life would not be the same without Cat's annoying voice and strange attire, Mary's crazy screaming which 97% of the time drives you completely insane, the insane choreography done by Mia, Wade, Shane, etc., the intense results show every week where the bottom six performers "dance for their lives" and show skills you never thought anyone could possibly have... the list goes on. Parties every night it's on! Woot!

San Francisco!

This past weekend I went to San Francisco along with 90+ other Art History students and some parents. It was extremely fun! We went to all the big museums in the city including the de Young, the Legion of Honor, and the MoMA. The Legion was definitely my favorite because they had more works I recognized and knew more about. The de Young was pretty cool too but not as cool, and the MoMA was just plain odd. I'm not a huge fan of modern art. We also visited various cathedrals as well. We went to Grace Cathedral the first day and St. Mary's the second. Both were very cool but I like Grace better because St. Mary's was too modern/contemporary for me. On Sunday we got up bright and early and went to the Glide Memorial church, it was a Methodist service. It was fun but I didn't really like it because it wasn't religious. All they talked about was donating money for the poor and "being the best you can be." The music was really cool though. I felt like I was at a rock concert or something. Then right after Glide we went to Grace and attended the first part of a Lutheran service. This was also a strange experience for me. They walked in singing and twirling incense around. Very strong smelling incense that kind of made me feel sick. I liked what the guy giving the sermon was saying for the most part, but just the way he approached what he wanted to say kind of weirded me out, not really sure why. Both experiences were totally emotional feeling, with no real spirit involved. It made me really glad to be part of the religion I am. :) Then after the two services we went back to the wharf and walked over to Ghirardelli and had a couple sundaes for mom's birthday (between five of us, we had four sundaes, a huge ice cream cone, and a root beer float, we totally pigged out). After Ghirardelli we went back to the hotel and took a nap then went to dinner with the group. Then we went and walked along the wharf and saw some seals and bought mom some birthday jewelry and had her make a wish and blow out a match, cuz that was all we could get. Then later that night mom wanted to stay at the hotel so me, Vic, Joe, and Jake walked to the beach. Along the way we were offered pot and Joe got scared by some homeless man. And we saw two drug busts. Crazy time. So I think that's all I should say cuz this is getting too long! And that's pretty much it anyway! So it was a really fun trip. I love art history! :)

Me and Mom at the lookout point we drove up to
St. Mary's Cathedral and Mrs. Hughes (the amazing teacher) in front of the Ghiberti doors at Grace Cathedral

Twilight!

So, I am a huge fan of the book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, as I know many are. I've been checkin' up on the updates about the movie and I just thought I would share my knowledge with you. So here is a link to the movie page. They now have the whole cast listed. Also is a behind the scenes clip of them filming. Check it out! :)

So I Think I Can Dance! :)

I never mentioned my Milwaukee trip! I am sad i haven't because it was an amazing trip. I went to Milwaukee with popsy to try out for the Fox reality show So You Think You Can Dance! It was awesome. Nothing happened because they said I look too young for the show... show biz, psh... anyway I did awesome at the dancing part (I got the crowd going) and I met some awesome people. That's all I needed! It was an amazing experience! :)

This is what I wore on the plane, pretty gangster right? :) Those are apple bottom jeans for all you hip-hop listeners. ;) ("Shawty had them Apple Bottome Jeans, boots with the fur!)

This is the "crew" from the auditions! Four of them (Cathryn, Steven, Herb and Natasha) got through to the next round! They are all amazing though! From left to right: Nikki, Summer, Natasha, Herb, Cathryn, Steven, Kylie, and Sara. This is who I hung out with during the whole seven hour wait. It was amazingly cool and fun just being there. :)

R.I.P. my drill team life!

Yesterday was a sad day as I had my last Year End Showcase ever! It was a good show I think (besides the fact that my foot almost fell off towards the end there...). It's always the worst when you have to say goodbye. And then the juniors started talking about next year and how they will let me know when all their stuff is, which was really weird cuz it hit me I'm getting old(er). When they started saying stuff like that I broke down, along with Haley because she's not doing it next year, so we cried hard for a while. But I'll try and post some videos or pictures of it soon. The last three years of being on the drill team have given me some of the best memories I will ever have. I've loved (almost) every moment of it! :)

I've Been Tagged...Again

What television show or movie did you want to be in when you were little? Power Rangers!
Which character or star? Kimmy! The Pink one!
Most embarrassing moment your friends will never let die? One time me and Candace, back in the day, were playing golf at the ranch. I hit her in the face with a golf club. I probably broke her nose. She still won't let it go. :)
Your proudest moment or accomplishment? Being in the Opening and Closing ceremonies as a Child of Light. It was inspiring and I'll never forget it.
What adult did you have a crush on when you were little? Lance Bass from N*Sync
What did you want to change your name to when you were little? McKenzie
Who was your first kiss? Eric Matta
What are 3 adjectives that someone from high school or middle school would use to describe you? Gangster, random, and happy
What hairstyle, clothes, or other accessories did you rock back in the day when it was cool? The huge bows, dorothy braids, other than that, I don't really remember.
What job did those long and annoying surveys in school say you would be good at? a flight attendant or salesperson
And what did you try and make the test result outcome be? a physical therapist or a dancer
What made you laugh harder than you have ever laughed before? Oh I can't pick one! Just yesterday though I laughed for about twenty minutes straight while Victoria and Brittney were doing an improv comtemporary dance for a whole song. It was hilarous and it almost seemed like it was an actual dance, with weird randomness. :)
Favorite memories of hanging out with your best friends? Making random movies with Victoria and company, throwing sugar cubes at the wall at Albertson's, dancing in the parking lot, every girls' night out, driving up to suncrest in the summer, cruising in the jeep with the top off, chick flick marathons, sleepovers, "moose herding" (aka man-hunting, it's code), L.A. with Haley and Laurel to see Wicked, eating Hershey's Nuggets and peanut butter M&Ms all the night long, Wendy's or A&W after the football games, there are just too many!
What's the most trouble you have ever got in with your parents? It was probably when I used to have temper tantrums all the time up until I was about 12. Especially when they were on vacation, I'd get in big trouble when they came back.
What was your 5 year plan when you had to write it out in high school? go to college, study abroad, Get married, do something with dancing.
And last but not least...What is your 5 year plan now? The same thing cuz I am in high school! :)

New York!!!

So New York was a blast! We had so much fun! We got to go on a bus tour of the city, we took classes at the Broadway Dance Theater, we went to the Statue of Liberty, shopped like there was no tomorrow, went to Wicked, and competed! It was a fabulous trip! I had so much fun! Here are just a few of the many pictures we had. I'll probably end up putting up more, so enjoy these for now. :)
